My Story …

 Hello, I’m Miguel.

Thanks for checking out my business! Hopefully, you arrived here through a referral but a browser search is welcome too!

Let me tell you more about me and my company Major Aerial Texas.

Short version…

I got my drone pilot’s license in 2020 when I found myself with a little bit more free time working from home. I spent 15 years in the oil and gas service industry as a field supervisor and project manager. My time indoors as a project manager and web developer motivated me to spend more time outside taking photos and working outside.

When someone suggested I look into drones it was at first a hobby, but then I found out it was way much more!

Long(er) version…

Trip to the Galapagos Islands, 2006.

Throughout my life, I have had clues as to where my professional career would take me.  As a kid, my grandfather always had a camera in his hand.  He was always taking pictures of his family trips and landscapes from his travels.   He instilled this passion in me and I don’t go anywhere without my camera (and now my drone!)

As a kid, I always liked taking photos on the plane anytime I traveled.

However, that commercial airplane window is so darn small!  I always felt the excitement during take-offs and landings, not because I was scared but because I enjoyed seeing the buildings and terrain from above at different altitudes.

While working in oil and gas, I was fortunate enough to travel the globe.  I have always liked documenting landscapes and buildings, from locations such as Scotland to Alaska, from Austin to the Galapagos Islands.  Taking photos on the ground has been amazing.

I always looked for the highest point or a parking garage to take photos of scenery and buildings…but that was never high enough.

Someone saw the passion I had for photography and suggested I explore drones.  It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with them.  I finally had the birds eye view I always wanted!  Then I found out all of the different helpful applications drones could provide, from real estate to construction, from roof inspections to asset management.  The helpful applications are endless!

In 2020 I decided to get my FAA Certification to become a professional drone pilot and began my dream of launching my own business to help others.

I enjoy building relationships and am thankful for my customers entrusting me with their projects. I love bringing my customer’s vision to reality by providing them the videos and images that exceed their expectations.

Thanks for visiting and reading.  Major Aerial Texas looks forward to enhancing your project with some great aerial photography and video!

Please reach out and let’s get flying!

- Miguel
